Hey everyone I have a rooster who is having a hard time breathing. He's 6 and when I look his tongue is going back I can push it back up but he's still struggling. I can not figure what happened. I can see his esophagus??? And it's opening and closing labored. Any ideas ? He's my baby

It's weird almost like a bone disconnected but there should be no bone there around his neck

Is he making any wheezing or whistling noises when he breathes? Look at this photo below. The larynx is in the middle of the throat behind the tongue. Sometimes a foreign body gets stuck there. Coughing usually dislodges it in about a day. The espophagus is on his right side of his throat, where you see the feeding syringe pointing. That's where food goes into the crop. Is his crop full and hard or soft and full like a water balloon?

Is there anything wrapped around the base of the tongue? Hair, string, etc. Even something as small as a hair can get wrapped around, swallowed, and it pulls the tongue back.

So he has not eaten but he is pooping well liquid. I can't see anything. It's almost like there is a bone around his neck under his head that when I push it up his tongue comes up??
