Rooster started humping my TV remote.😱

As far as having a house chicken, IMO it doesn’t seem much different than a parrot. But like a parrot, you need to cater to there mental health, which means another chicken. (The humping is partially hormonal teenager - I remember as a kid having a bunch of cockerels outside with hens free-ranging, would hump anything.) If you can commit to cost and care, get a chicken friend. If your apartment does not allow pets or limits pets, or has noise ordinances, then best to take him back to his parents’ place. There might not be issues now, but humans can be fickle. A neighbor or landlord has every right to complain and that’s not good for him. (If pets are allowed, also make sure that includes birds, and what chickens would be designated - pets or livestock).

If you are allowed pet birds - pretty sure they make parrot/bird/chicken harnesses! You could even take him for ‘walks’ outside:D

No really give him a RUN and COOP and NATURAL LIFE please! and a hen!

A home with somewhere to forage and hens would be best for him, as others are saying, but I just wanted to throw out the possibility of just getting another roo for him to live with. Then you don't have to worry about getting a bunch of hens so they don't get overbred. I have a bachelor flock and it's awesome. They're so sweet to each other and enjoy their lives. You could get a small coop like this for them live in on your balcony.

I'm sorry you're in such a difficult situation. Are you in the US?

He is not.

And insisting on denying him a normal rooster life is not love but animal cruelty in my book.

I agree.

It's so hard for you! My sympathy!

But he should not live on a balcony or alone, I have to make that clear.

Grass and companionship is THE cure for depression, send him to a farm where he will be truly happy if you love him, which I have no doubt you do.

Your 'baby' is lonely and sad that is all too evident. Lots of people have said this. How old is he?
