As far as having a house chicken, IMO it doesn’t seem much different than a parrot. But like a parrot, you need to cater to there mental health, which means another chicken. (The humping is partially hormonal teenager - I remember as a kid having a bunch of cockerels outside with hens free-ranging, would hump anything.) If you can commit to cost and care, get a chicken friend. If your apartment does not allow pets or limits pets, or has noise ordinances, then best to take him back to his parents’ place. There might not be issues now, but humans can be fickle. A neighbor or landlord has every right to complain and that’s not good for him. (If pets are allowed, also make sure that includes birds, and what chickens would be designated - pets or livestock).
If you are allowed pet birds - pretty sure they make parrot/bird/chicken harnesses! You could even take him for ‘walks’ outside
