HI everybody! I am new to this, so please bear with me.
I have a Rhode Island Red rooster and two RIR hens, as well as two black Cornish roosters. I noticed this past Sunday that my RIR rooster has like a white film over his whole left eye, and he has like a clear gooey looking filmy spot on his right eye. Other than squinting his eyes like they are bothering him, he is acting his normal self! The RIR's were my first flock, and this is the first time they have gotten sick (they are about 3 years old). I can't really do much of anything with the RIR rooster, because he will attack you if you go in the pen, or if he gets out, and he has some scary looking spurs! At the suggestion of a cousin who has had a lot of experience with chickens, I started them all on some Oxytetracycline powder in their water. This morning, (Tuesday), I noticed that my hens are sneezing! They don't have the eye thing going on, and they are acting fine as well otherwise. Can anyone suggest what I should do to help them?? I forgot to mention the first time I posted this, that I have been treating them with the antibiotics since Sunday, and the rooster's eyes have not improved.
