Roosting at night

Hey y’all. I have a white peahen that adopted my backyard as her new home. She free ranges with out hens all day but roosts in a tree above the backyard at night. We built a bigger more secure coop and I started roosting her on there at night with the hens. She has a large section with natural branches all to herself with the hens roosted near her but not on same branches.

When I lock them in at night she kind of paces back and forth before she settles so I’m wondering Is it ok to roost her there or am I being cruel hr not letting her roost in the tree. We have lots of owls in the area.

I would keep her in the pen at night. Horned owls are powerful enough to kill a peahen.

White birds are a favorite meal of owls. Keep her penned esp during the owl nesting season between now and March.
