Does anyone know of any dark egg layers that have a rosecomb or some variation (cushion, pea, etc) of it? All the dark eggers I know of have either single combs or carnation combs. I'd love to get some cold hardy rosecomb dark eggers!

Yep, personally I say just avoid people with stock that carry BIG combs. So far I've heard lots of good on Marans dealing with cold weather.

But, you do have a good idea though. Personally I'm not a big fan of single combs too and would rather a pea/rose/cushion/etc combed dark layer. I've got loads of V combed dark layers right now, would that count? V combs are relatively small, but they do vary. The fact that they have two points like a single comb might be an issue, I'm not sure. I'll see how big mine get as they mature.

ETA - I have no fear of it on a hen, but on a rooster, let's see. . . .
