Rosecomb Thread

When you go to school you pay tuition. You learned something that it sometimes costs people than $25. i doubt you're going to find any of the better breeders of Rosecombs that sell either eggs or chicks; i don't know of any that do. Your best bet would be to go to shows, I believe there are some in KY, and buy adult birds from someone who is showing.
Before you do that though buy a Standard & study it. failing that either the American Poultry Association or the American Bantam Association publishes a reasonably priced book on Rosecomb Bantams. Check the 2 websites for ordering info.

There is an older version of the "SOP" that can be read on line, that is if you don't want to buy one. Then you could just print off the pages you need for later referal! I know Rick Hare will ship birds and so will Mike Hughes. They are not going to sell you eggs or chicks. They are show breeders, any eggs hatched are raised up so they can see who is best for show. You can go to the American Bantam Association, and go to the show link. Shows are listed there, not all by any means, but a lot. You just might find something there for sale. Good Luck, they are super birds too work with.

Id keep both hens at least, and having the cock with them does seem to encourage earlier and natural behavior in games and game mixes. some on this thread (apparently very generous), would often at certain times test hatching eggs for others on here wanting to get into hobby but not wanting to get ripped off for just pretty eye candy of own to be proud of to look at. not all are greedy and will keep then just cull all non show or breeder birds, though sadly many are. theyre chickens remember, the ones they dont keep for show or breeding they kill or sell, same as any other chicken. i had a champion show cock, but saw many for sale as champions even on here that were terrible mutts said to be prized birds. you know how i got mine? it was a rescued baiter bird stolen apparently, then later abandoned, then given to me. was micro chipped and everything aside from leg band..

Any duckwing breeders? Or could I get this coloring using duckwing Dutch bantams and black rosecombs?
