there is always Mottled, then its a short trip to spangled and for ABA recognition there is no minimum years or minimum breeder #'s required. just a $200 application fee, and a proposed standard which would be easy as the color is defined and breed type is defined. Then 25 birds at two qualifing meets.

He looks very similar to my wheaten X black cross males. I'll get some pics of them up soon. I was kind of bummed with the lack of improvement made. I plan on crossing the offspring with each other to get better stuff to put back to wheaten next year.. we shall see

i almost bought more rosecombs at a local flea market. luckily i resisted and came home with more pigeons instead.. for now! ill miss the eggs everyday though. great lady, that had some decent birds, and not to expensive on deals with them!

It is very seldom you see much improvement in 1 generation. I have some birds here that are really turning the corner now after 8 generations total but 3 past a variety cross. I always plan at least 3 generations from a variety cross but honestly expect 5 to have them in even better shape.

the F1xF1 is where you will really see first improvement, then the F2XF1 or F2xF2.
