Rude Feedstore Employee! Update!

If I go to our actual "feed store", I pay for it in the store, then drive around back and they load it in the truck for me.

The other place that I get feed from I have to load it myself. Most people can't heft around those 50# sacks, and the feed store has a guy that will carry two at the same time.

It was rude, IMO... I would be put off by it, and look to do business elsewhere, too.

Hrmm. Around here, being pregnant and having my one year old son with doesn't even warrant an offer to help load my car most of the time. A little while ago, I bought 50lbs of grower and 50lbs of starter and had to horse the bags around in the cart to find the stupid barcodes for the cashier. I laid in bed that day and the next, now I know better than to go without someone to help.

Yep very rude! I have never been in a feedstore around here that they let you carry your food out.. heck even if I buy a 5lb bag they carry it out. And one is like Tori's where you
drive around back and they load it in, I don't even get out of my car.

Drive the extra miles... it's worth it. And when you go back, say close my account, I'm taking my business elsewhere.....

Working in retail myself, it's amazing how horrible people act! If I acted like that I would be fired no questions asked! On a side note, if people come up to me on their cell phone I make a point to talk really loudly. It's very rude to talk on the phone in a retail environment. It's sad she's their only employee. You can't just avoid her. I have several customers that make a point to come to me because I try extra hard. I'd make call to her boss telling him the story. Even if nothing happens right away, he should know. Take a deep breath and be calm, that way you sound like gold, and she's the evil one!!

Around here we only have the big stores like TSC, and usually they only have two employees there, so forget getting help carrying bags of feed.

At least I can use the carts, if they don't fall in the giant potholes in the parking lot!

I can totally relate.

There is a good feed store near me that has been around for at least 60 years. The owner is nice and reasonably knowledgeable.

They used to have these two young men as help who were polite, quiet, experienced, knew what you wanted and where to find it, and always loaded your stuff into your car for you.

Once I bought cattle panels there and they did the best job ever strapping those things into my truck.

Now, they have new help. No idea why. But these new people seem to have no clue. I would bet they don't know the difference between grower pellets or layer pellets. I went there and asked for 18% layer pellets. A clueless new guy wheels 15% layer pellets out onto the loading dock and leaves the bag under the edge of the roof where melting snow drips water onto it. I tell them it's the wrong bag. New guy says it's the only kind they sell. I have to explain that I just bought 18% there last week. New guy wheels wet bag back onto store. Comes out with 18% bag, leaves it under the dripping overhang. I quickly grab it so it doesn't get any more water on it, getting dripped on myself in the process. Thanks, Mr.

They may begin loosing my business if they keep on going downhill like that.

mom'sfolly :

I think I would make a point of talking to the manager about this, since you left without knowing if your bill had been totaled properly, and the employee left without completing the transaction.

Absolutely!
I would also make sure you tell the owner that you will be taking your business elsewhere because of this. It's only fair to him that he knows why he is losing a good customer.

Did she really ask if her son had knocked up his girlfrind over the phone infront of yall ?
Tell her you'll throw in a wholesale box of condoms if she would keep her mind on the job next time.
