Will y'all explain something to me....

Ok, if Felix & Sassyfras mate (when she is of age) 1. Can I hatch their eggs? & 2. What kind of duck would the ducklings be considered? Pekin? Runner?

For those who don't know.. Felix is a jumbo Pekin & Sassyfras is a White & Fawn Runner.

1.Yes you can hatch the eggs or let her if she goes broody. 2. Ducklings would be mixed between the 2 so they would be called mixed breed.

Help!!! The ants are eating my ducks!!!

OK, I'm eggsagerating slightly. But I tried to drown an ant hill. The ducklings played in the water and ate ant eggs. (The ducklings were free to stay or leave. They stayed.) Later, they had bites on their feet. When the bites healed, the ducklings had (have) small HOLES in their feet. The holes are not closing. I hold up their feet and see LIGHT through the holes. Each duckling foot has 2 -5 holes in it.

How can I kill the ants without endangering my ducklings? I tried drowning them but it did not work. The ants have rebuilt. The ant pile is at the side of my driveway, right where I step to get out of the car. So leaving the ants alone is not an option. But if I poison the ants, I am afraid the ducklings will also get poisoned if they hunt bugs or hang out in that area.

Any ideas???

Have you googled a natural way to kill ants?

Diatomaceous earth has always worked for me with chicks, but I am new to ducks... not sure if the wetness will change its effectiveness.

You should be able to find it at tractor supply or other feed store.
