Russian Orloffs

Anyone know any RO breeders in PA or WV?

Farmers only worry during the growing season, but towns people worry all the time.

They are in Ohio. I am pretty sure there are more in Ohio than I am aware of. I am waiting on a few people on the mailing list to ok me listing them on the forum page. Once they ok me, I will add them to the list under the "where to buy" thread.

Ashandvine, my chicks where pretty much all yellow down when I received them. Not knowing much about the breed I was worried I might have gotten some not so pure Orloff. They have started looking more like Orloff as the weeks go by except for a few that barely have any tufts on their face. A few have what seems like way to much white ( read somewhere that this is not standard for spangling) in their spangling but they are still very young. I lost two this past week due to all the rain & temperature dropping drastically. I am still new to the breed but hope that through this & other means we can bring the Orloff back strong here in the states. Even considered trying to import some of the other rare colors from the UK but not sure how much that would cost or the hazzle of it. I haven't taken any pictures of my Orloff lately but it is long overdue, just have a lot going on now with work & training. I managed to acquire a really nice white bantam Orloff pair a few weeks ago though & they are adorable.

I would love to see pictures of your chicks as well as that bantam pair. This is the first time someone has said they had bantam whites. I hate to ask but are you sure they aren't bantam Chanteclers? They do have a lot in common. The one that I was worried about has followed the same lines as you describe only it doesn't have a lot of white yet and does have muffs. There are some darker, mille fleur patterns starting to come in so I am just playing the waiting game right now. Please do keep posting updates.

Managed to take few pics of the chicks tody although they don't pose well for the camera. This is their first time out on grass.

Also here are a few pics of the bantams, the female was a bit reluctant to stay still long enough for a few good shots

Hello!
I have 2 Spangled Orloff hens, beautiful birds! :)
Those chicks are adorable vtguania!
I also have a hen that may or may not be an Orloff, she looks like a Orloff, but she has slate shanks. Is she still an Orloff or a mixed, like I think? I can upload pictures if you need them. Thanks!

Thank you TheCrazyClucker. I don't really know much about Orloff except what I have read about them & the standard according to The Russian Orloff Club from the UK on what it used to be. I do know that yellow or orange colored legs is what they should have. Anything other than that is not according to standard. My guess would be that if is slate color it's probably a mix. I would like to see pictures of it though & I can probably ask someone else with more knowledge from the ROC UK. They have a group on Facebook which I'm a part of. They are indeed beautiful birds especially with their falcon appearance IMO. I can stand in my shed all day 7 watch them but then I would not get anything done. I'm trying to figure out how difficult it would be to import eggs or possibly adult chickens from the UK in other colors. I've tried contacting the USDA this week but had no luck reaching a live person. Perhaps I will try again next week if I get a chance between training. Also I would like to see some pics of your two Orloff hens.
