Please don't use the metal rabbit feeders for ANYTHING in your chicken coops! My handsome roo debeaked himself when his beak got caught (I assume from the evidence found) in the gap between the flip
top.

I could tell he was hurting but he went straight to eating with his girls so in this pic the wet feed is on the tip of his beak. It helped stop the bleeding.
He was just a bit slow and made sure not to go further than scooping feed from the top since the 'quick' was exposed. He is back to his usual self this morning

Thank you. He is back to his big friendly self. Metal feeder removed. Now I just wonder how long before his beak grows back?
Not to be discouraging but look at this ..
She ran into a fence and broke her beak last summer ....
omg is she ok my wyandotte roo has a broken beak but its growing back
How much was missing and how long did it take to grow back ?????
Oh it's still broken its healing little by little its just like your fingernail mine is about 1/3 of the way
So maybe my hen will be able to eat correctly and look normal in a tear or two good to know ...
@gander007 How does she eat right now? Do you have to make a separate feed area/mix for her? I sure hope her beak grows back.
