Rusty the Rooster

This is my Rusty. He is 21 weeks old and I am so happy with him so far. I have had two previous roosters and one died early on and the other I had to cull because he was not behaving approriately to my grandchildren and family (though he was fine with me). This guy is pretty friendly and is trying his hardest to mate the girls.

This guy's mama stepped on the egg as it was trying to hatch out and squished him!! I literally peeled him out and then stuffed him under his mom and voila! He lived. He is a nice guy and "talks" a lot.

I emailed this post to the owner of the parents. She said that he had too much copper on his chest to be a show chicken but that he would be pretty. I didn't read that message to him, but I did tell him about what y'all said when I closed up the coop tonight. LOL

He's very nice, despite of course the coppering on his chest.

Thanks, he is my first along with one hen. She is very shy but getting a little more comfortable with people.

Rusty comes up and eats out of my hand.
