If you haven't tried your local Craigslist farm and garden section yet, you might be surprised. Be patient I see a LOT of good birds on there and plenty of Meh ones.

I would suggest not getting all of your birds this year, that way you can add fresh birds next year to keep up winter production when the older ladies molt.
