Saddest thing ever witnessed

I have netting over all of my pens, electric around all of the coops and pens and concrete under all of the gates because of a fox. She wouldn't go into a live trap but I did eventually trap her.

What did you do to her after you trapped her? :hmm

All chciks seem fine accept for oen.Its been getting much colder then the rest,as it was doing a lot of head tucking and huddling yesterday until it warmed up,but then his mother got snatched and resulted back to that position.Seems more excited and trying to come out it’s cage.I just hope it’s not cocci and at this point just stress. All other chicks are fine.Did walk and my dog constantly keeps sniffing a certain spot in my yard, she deeply looks into it,notice her also catch a scent, but that could have been anything. How long can a fox go without feed?Keeping hens locked up for four or five days, will continue daily walks and practically trying their make it IMPOSSIBLE for this thing to come in the yard with us not spotting it or it having to run away.

One time my sister heard some chickens acting weird and clucking nonstop so she went down there and there was a fox and she ran after it with a stick!:lau

I’ve doen that before. It ran within maybe six feet of us to get a hen and before it could I had a stick and was at it.

Let them out to free range. Its weird and awkward not having mama hen there, everything’s amiss. The chicks called when I let them out but nothing. They are super cautious and no longer stick together ,their everywhere. My dogs helping watch them but their scared of her, they make little chirp/cackles anytime she comes by.
