I hope Dickie will soon join her in her complete recovery celebration. His wing is healing very slowly but because it was such a bad break, it's taking a LONG time! I'll be sooooo glad when it's all over. My little roo is now standing for short periods and can take a feww wobbly steps as well. I just knew he would be parylized for the rest of his life! Congrats on your great job with Sadie and I am so happy for you! Take care of yourself for a while now, Sara!
Yea I can take some time now to breathe and "EAT." I just gotta make sure there is no infection and if not we are cured!!!!!! When Dickie recovers we gotta have a recovery party. lol
Our Sadie was up to a pic, just one, she wasn't happy about having her bandages changed, so here it is:
Hopefully we didn't cause infection when we amputated. I have a vet on stand by even though he doesn't know it. Just gotta get that foot in the door and I'm there. Sadie is still on meds so hopefully this will behind us real soon.
Robin, I'm so sorry about your roo, sorry I wasn't there for you but I think you understand why and what was going on with us. THE WAITING IS THE WORST and almost feeling worthless to help doesn't help matters. Your Dickie is going to be fine, he just needs time to heal. He will be healed before we know it, Now we have to get your roo in good shape and we can have that celebration we were talking about. Sara
P. S. Sadie still isn't out of the woods yet. If there isn't any infection within a couple of days I would say we are good to go.
Posted to say that the color change behind Sadies bandages on her feathers is from peroxide being poured on her damaged wing.
At this time I'm afraid to be happy and also afraid to be scared. Please give us a small prayer that infection didn't enter her surgery site. If not we will be out of the woods and Sadie can go on to live a nice disabled, spoiled chicken life.

Thank you Zookeeper9000, I was starting to think nobody cared anymore from the lack of post about Sadie. You and Robin have been there through the whole event. I can't thank you both enough. I guess everyone is shopping and stuff but that still doesn't help me from being a nervous wreck.
In all the confusion I wanted to point out that a man by the name of Justus Truett was the one that worked on Sadie and he did a phenomenon job removing her wing. He resides in west Ga. and I feel very lucky to know him and I'm sure he will be happy to help me with any other problems I my have in the future. Thanks again Justus.
Your friend,
