Ok, so at what point then should I intervene? Are there any other signs of distress I should be looking out for in case? He has air, obviously, so I’m not too worried about that

They can take 48 hours to start zipping from the time they pip.

At the moment, intervention isn’t needed. I’m quite liking where baby is at right now. If his behavior changes, but there’s still no progress, let us know / post a new video of it.

I’m rooting for your baby! I think the fact that was able to pip shows it has some strength.

All but one of my ducklings who were able to externally pip survived.

So we are nearing the 36 hr mark since he externally pipped and no changes. He hasn’t made it through any more of the shell. The only change I am noticing is he is talking a lot. A lot of peeps. Keep letting him go longer?

Here is a video I just took, of course he didn’t talk much. I can feel some tapping on the shell. Other than that I haven’t noticed many changes, he may be breathing a little faster than yesterday? Idk
