Well, my duck lives in my bedroom so I would be dead already if that were the case! Proper hygiene for you and your ducks are important and with proper practice, everything is perfectly safe! Ducks make good pets for kids to stay entertained!!

Yeah..while salmonella is a big deal it can usually be maintained if hands are washed and such. My ducks have been vaccinated for it

Different strains of Salmonella. You can get a salmonella test kit and and ship it off to be tested.

Yup. Mine are. And just like @chickens really said you can can a test kit to test your ducks and send it off to see if they have salmonella.

Testing for the presence of salmonella and vaccinating for the prevention of salmonella are far different things. I'm trying to find out if there is a vaccine for ducks for the prevention of salmonella as was stated in an earlier post.

What strain are you wanting to vaccinate for. Definitely need to know what your needing.

I'm not vaccinating for anything. Just trying to increase my knowledge. I can't seem to find anything about vaccinating ducks for salmonella, but maybe my Google Fu is not working well.
