He is beautiful and sweet. I held him this morning when I was putting him in his temporary home and he is a sweety. Maybe I'll name him Eagle or Baldy. I already have Hawk and Owlex. Thanks again Miriam.
This afternoon I witnessed my two 27-week old cockerels double-teaming one of my hens and I didn't like it one bit. In fact, they seem really fixated on her. It may be time to re-home one of the boys. Actually, after watching the mating, I'm starting to re-think the whole rooster thing. I realize it could be the raging hormones that will pass. I like the idea of having a protector for my girls, but I don't want to stress them, especially the one. I just wanted to vent because I am somewhat traumatized

And Welcome to the SD thread!
I am glad you are liking him! The Wheaties are SO sweet.
Do the boys have enough girls to go around? I usually recommend 8-10 girls for 1 boy... You can get away with 6 per boy if you have a REALLY nice boy... but the hens will probably need hen saddles to protect their backs from his claws...
At about 5 months or so the hormones start kicking in and they can become jerks... unfortunately from my experience, if you have one that is a jerk from the beginning (when starting mating) he always will be. The nice ones are uaully nice from the beginning and stay that way... But "nice" is relative... Your welcome to come watch mine so you can compare...
But unfortunately chicken mating was not on God's list of "nice things"...
Even the "sweet" boys can appear rough and "unpolished" at times... well most of the time....
Don't let me get started on the mean ones... they are just that... downright MEAN.
Hopefully you can get it all figured out and settled and everyone can live in peace.
