San Diego Chicken meetup and Chat thread

On another note, I wanted to share with you all a little project that I am working on.....WINO-BATOR!!!!!!

I finished wiring it up last night and let her run overnight. With a few minor adjustments this morning (before the kids got up), I now have her holding steady at 99.6F and 35%H. Now all that left is to add the second egg tray, the brooder box (at the bottom) and clean up the wiring. This WinoBator is going to hold 84 eggs total.

I cant wait for the kids to experience thier first hatch!

I will add another picture when she is finished.

I live on Dos Picos Park Road... if the weather is bad, we can always hang out here in the barn. I'll be happy to help in any way possible.

Welcome to all the new members!!

Hey, Dana - I live off of Mussey Grade! We're neighbors!
I'm a big fan of Dos Picos Park, and I'm happy to help however I can - would love for this to happen! Also, there's a big covered cemented area at Dos Picos Park - almost like a gazebo, but much bigger (meant for performances and the like). It might be an option -

Its perfect..... I was just reading about someone that converted a Soda fridge into a hatcher.... This is a perfect size.... And a big window to see the Peeps as they hatch...

I see some chicks being named after wines in your future.

I'd love to get together with everyone in February. There are possibilities of an out of town poultry show on the 18 or 11, so perhaps the last weekend? 25th?

Well hi Amy! How far up or down from DPPR are you?

I love the Wine-o-bator! You'll have to give your chicks vineyard names...

Hi, Dana! I'm just a couple of roads in from the 67 - Oak Valley Road.
Great names for pullets: Champagne, Chardonnay, Chablis...the list is pretty endless
