I think Authorized Retailer refers to being an official Retailer for a specific product. In this case would be for Modesto Milling. but if you notice in feed stores they will have normally two or three brands that they are "Authorized" to sell. I can only imagine what the requirements are to fulfill a seat for being an Authorized Retailer for a product.

So.... you have to have a retail license to buy wholesale and to sell retail. Buying wholesale also means you do not pay sales tax. Anyone can get a bulk price if they can manage the delivery issues, you pay sales tax.

Prices and deals on all of the above will change according to how you get it delivered. Delivery fees can be prohibitive.

For instance:

I priced out a Feed from Mazuri. Mazuri is a Purena product formulated for zoos. On the website 40 lb bag was 21 dollars.... so far so good. Since I hadn't found a dealer of Mazuri yet. I checked into delivery for one bag. One bag was over 40 dollars in shipping fees. So for that one bag it would have cost me more than sixty bucks. The other online source for Zoo quality feed was Ultra and the least amount they would ship was 2000 lbs.

Then I happened to spot a bag with a Mazuri logo on it in the feed store that I shop for hay.... Woo hoo I asked the owner if she carried Mazuri and she said yes because of the influence of the Zoo and Animal park there were people in the area that raised monkeys Flamingos and various other species she carried Mazuri for them. Because she was an authorized dealer and regularly bought a ton at a time from them she was able to get my Mazuri Game bird feed in at the same 21 dollars a bag.

Hmmm maybe being an authorized dealer means you sell enough to warrant the dealer to foot the costs for shipping....

Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of the mice, rats, squirrels, rabbits, gophers, rabbits, and ravens.

You don't have very many chickens, or breeds out there, so you could always try to add this one (ALBC site):

Buckeyes also have a personality all their own. They are a very active fowl and are noted for being especially vigilant in the pursuit of mice, some breeders comparing them to cats in regard to this ability.

I need to make my bf dig out the .22. Oh and I have THREE rabbits left of the 30 that I rescued. Yay me! LOL! Anyone need a bunny? They're super cute.......

Too much work having to train, supervise, and care for such a high energy small dog.

I'm a little partial to the big lazy dogs.

Thats why you get something crossed up LOL. The terrier dogs that are good for vermin are usually really good when you give them a job. I have an Aussie cross who is death on gophers, rabbits, and Rats. I moved a couch that was on the front porch in a planter at my old house and a rat leaped out of it..... OMG Get em Rosie I said. I swear to god she move at least a yard of dirt getting them out of the ground and she did. And KILLED everyone she found. And I even could stop her for a moment to make sure when she hit the nests about two feet down. We uncovered three Rats nests in the ground with at least six babies each. She killed four adults and semi adults and soon as they were dead I told her to drop it and she did.

This is a dog I got from the pound at two years old and the only training I ever gave her was that when I said No or No Dogs she was to stop what she was doing. The only thing I would not want her to tackle in her prime is a snake of any kind. The non venomous are beneficial as well as the venomous. I tackle the relocation of the venomous. Sadly Rosie is about fifteen now and getting a little dim and hard of hearing. So I will be on a dog hunt eventually..... sigh.

Typically in order to buy wholesale you have to have a resale license.   Wholesale price is usually between 10 and 20 percent cheaper than the suggested retail price.  (I used to work for sears).  But it depends on the industry.    For Jewelry its around 50 percent.  I do not know about feed.

The resale license means you cannot sell the product in a retail environment without charging sales tax.     Bulk pricing will be different than Wholesale pricing.  I dont know how that works.

Hope I cleared it up in a not to muddled way.

Nope, still don't get it. I was just wondering because it said "authorized retailer" but she said she didn't have a resale license, so I was confused because I thought resale and retail were the same thing.

Haha I wish they'd pick up the shipping!!! In our dreams.

As far as I can tell I don't get any "perks" per se, but when my resale goes through we will be getting it for a LITTLE but cheaper.

Thank you for posting. Gonna look into that one, myself. Have the same problem. Our rooster will take care of the ones that go into the coop so the rats learned to stay away from him.

Well my silly broody Sussex is still sitting away, but she broke a bunch of eggs the first two days, so I took them away from her. They are cooking away in the incubator, then I'm going to try to pull that sneak a chick trick in the middle of the night, and give some hatchlings back to mom.
