Tammy, As it dries off more, it looks black to me but could change and I can see like white/silver tips on some of the feathers. Hmmmmm........... It hatched and looks rather large as in roo.
Gosh, I hope I am wrong. Another Bantam is pipping right now. They are a day early, suppose to be tomorrow but I guess my temps were a little high and they decided today is good. I will let you know what color they turn out to be. I am excited, I did not think I was going to have bantams again but never say never.
Odd because the Lavender AM that I hatched earlier were either Lavender or Splits which are black. I could tell the second they hatched and nothing has changed.
I will keep you updated.

Nancy, the chick I thought to be lav has feathered out light blueish with silvery wingtips, it definitely started lavender but now I'm not sure what it is. Strange. Some of the blacks are turning blue as they feather out, so even if yours come out black, they may be blue. I hope you get a lav chick too, I'm really curious what you will see once it feathers out. Maybe it's still lav, and I am just a little color-blind. Miriam (Phage) saw it and thought it may be blue carrying the lavender, but blues usually start out black or dk blue, this one was light purplish, nearly white.
