I got what I wanted for christmas--- A baby

We're due in August after trying for six months-- nothing could be better for me

We're going to spend the whole day with DH's family. Mine are all dispersed, so I won't get to see them.

I will be spending a quiet day with the furkids, the feathered kids and the finned kids. And hopefully watching my 31 eggs hatch.

My family is mostly in Michigan, with a few in Missouri, Utah, Washington.

I would love a new minivan, and a farm with a decent sized house and barns.

For everyone else, I wish for peace, joy and love in their family and friends. A prosperous New Year and a Happy Christmas, or Kwanza or whatever you celebrate at this time of year.

I have already submitted my x mas requests, so here are our plans:

Cook a ton of food for xmas eve (ham, xmas salad, popovers and trifle) and eat it, washed down with lots of wine.

Put kids to bed and then spend 5 hours assembling Santa loot- more wine will be had.

Wake up at 5 am with the kids jumping on me.

Open gifts.

Make brunch (blintzes, panatone french toast, canadian bacon, fresh berries and mimosas) and eat it.

Nap if I am lucky.

Play with the kids and go sledding.

Make and eat dinner (a huge pile of crab, sourdough, veg and a yule log)
