I finally finished my coop! We used the Savannah Playhouse, bought at Toys R Us for $249.00. We raised it up on cinderblocks, put down a plywood floor, and covered that with vinyl flooring for easy cleaning. We flipped one of the panels upside down to make a door for the chickens, and then added a 4x8 run. All of the windows were covered with hardware cloth. All of the windows have shutter that close (we added latches), and we covered the front door window with heavy plastic to keep out drafts and the rain. I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions! Enjoy the pictures- the chickens are our 3 week old White Dorkings, enjoying a rare day of sunshine out of the brooder.

Sorry about having to link to Photobucket- I couldn't get the uploader to work.

Very nice!

I'm jealous! I tried to get that playhouse but they had already stopped selling it at the stores by me since it's dicontinued. It looks absolutely gorgeous!

$249.00? Really? What's it made out of? That is so cool. If you can fit 12 birds in it. I could probably use it for a trio of breeders. You are sooooooooooo smart.
