Maybe you read or participated in this discussion here?

Well, here is another for you to vote on:

Scenario: You have a pair of pepper/salt shakers, one with fewer and/or smaller holes and one with more and/or bigger holes. You have standard table salt and standard pre-ground pepper.

Question: Which shaker does the peeper go into and WHY?

The pepper goes into the one with larger holes because some people use coarse ground pepper.
If you use standard finely ground I would not think it would matter.

Pepper goes into the one with fewer/smaller holes. You put salt on more liberally, but, you regulate the amount of pepper more.

We put the pepper in the one that has a tiny letter "P" on it . . . most shakers I've lived with come with that. Now we have proper pepper, though. Preground has no taste.

Lord knows the pepper never does... its kinda like waiting on ketchup out of a glass bottle...I mean what if my knife wasnt clean? Reminds me of the time my dh almost licked the drip off the A-! bottle at a nice restaurant...lol...

No one would have ever known!

smaller holes and fewer holes for the salt so you dont accidentally put to much salt on your food

and the larger and more holes for the pepper because pepper comes in many different grind sizes
