Scared of the answer...

I’ve been scared to ask and have put it off for days, because I’m not sure I want what I fear to be confirmed. I see slight barring I think on what is supposed to be HER feathers. She’s a sapphire gem, approx 3-3.5 weeks old. What do you think is my sunny a girl or a roo I’ll have to rehome? She never had a white dot on her head (picture of her the day after we brought her home included).

I think it’s still a little too young

Sapphire gems are sex linked and the boys would be barred so you have a pullet!!!

What you are seeing is "self lacing" which is common in blue birds. It is not barring. She is a pullet.

I think that your siking yourself out which often happens when you are paranoid about getting a cockerel Like someone said in an above post blue birds will have a darker blue on the edges of their feather but no need to worry, it isn’t barring
