Screw/washer alternative for hardware cloth ideas

Like I said, I'm slightly lazy about fiddly things and like to work with a handful of screws in one hand and a drill in the other. Washers slow me down unless I can coerce someone into handing them to me assembled.

Hey I gotta be me.

I own several but they tend to disappear when the tools come out. I wonder why.

Now fence staples. Those things are evil. I've used them way too much and several smashed appendages later I learned to hold them with pliers.(fiddely) Too much bounce. Too much pain. Might look into the glue staples. Otherwise preassemnle I guess. I'm amazed there's no 3/4" head screw out there. Somewhere.

I had my last and final fence done professionally after too many mishaps and too much repetitive work. No regrets, trouble free for over 14 years now. I don't touch it and neither do the horses.

Ours went up between 1992 and 2000, so it's older. The oak split rail is oldest, and is all being replaced. The oxen like to mess with the woven wire below the electric tape with their horns; not helpful! And they can lean on it sometimes, below the electric. The horses are good generally, but one mare used to body slam the gates, just because she could. She has fortunately not done it in years, and as she weighs in at 1400+ pounds, it's a very good thing!

Then I could use regular staples to hold things up until I add the real hardware. In fact if i did that I'd have a free hand either way. Hmm. Then just have to aquire lumber. Short on all but 4x4s and planks. Those I have lots of.
