Second Hatch, this time I will actually TRY to do things right.

But I think I have already lost 4 baby chick, due to irregular temp on flipping brinsea mini Eco . The temp would not stay steady one morning I had noticed that it had dropped down to 36 c . Today when I candled the eggs some were not moving and some were but with a very slow motion . I am in tears I feel like grabbing brinsea people and give them a good mouth full

Just calm down, they still may be fine. Lower temps are much better than too high temps.

Sally- Sending hatching fairies your way!! I am two weeks til lock down. Have BBS English Orpingtons. And a broody sitting on exchequer leghorns, BBS jersey giants and Swedish flower.

OOO sounds like fun, how many eggs total?

I am just wanting to get at least four chicks out of this batch. That would make me happy with shipped eggs.
My husband wants them all to hatch lol . He is like why would you only want four? I would LOVE more but I don't want to get my hopes too high and be disappointed. I want two girls at least.

I was just in Virginia last week, went to the hillsville flea market. How is it raising chickens in your neck of the woods? My father just bought property there and found out they don't allow poultry.

The broody is sitting on 12 eggs  !! Then I have 6 in the incubator right now !!

Most if mine are shipped and all seem to be developing pretty well, I candled on day 7. I am not getting my hopes up because for 1 them being shipped and 2 its getting cooler. I'm just hoping that she continues to sit for two more weeks.

As far as VA, I have no issues with chickens. I am outside of the city limits so they really dont care as long ad you aren't in the city. I am near roanoke.

So only two more days until your hatch right ?

Yeah mine are shipped eggs and I am new ...and two different incubators going. My father is outside the city its just his HOA that won't allow them. I was really surprised because he has just over six acres.

Day 21 is tomorrow, I am keeping my fingers crossed for a pip to happen today so I can see it. Last hatch we had one out on day 20 and one out on day 21.

Good luck with the broody. When are the incubator eggs due? Same time? Do you plan to give broody the incubator chicks if they hatch?

Thats crazy!! I cant believe he has 6 acres and the HOA still wont allow chickens ..

I am still nervous because of the shipping but we shall see what happens. Thats exciting only two more days !! I just have the one incubator the mini eco going. They are all supposed to hatch on the 21st. I am not sure what I am going to do because that would be a total of 18 babies if they all hatched ( which im sure they wont ) . But it all depends on how many hatch. The most babies i would let her raise would be 13. She is still young not even a year old, She is just over 8 months. I had three chickens go broody this year. my silkie hatched out three chicks, my salmon faverolle hatched out one and then abandoned it (less than a year old) and now my splash marans is sitting on the 12.

Please let me know what happens and post pictures !!!!
