Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

OK thanks! I need to check what I thought was grey. I know one has silver and I know one has red or gold in the hackles. Not sure about the others yet.

Males can be golden (one copy each of gold and silver).

So it is not possible to be blue with silver? Do all blue partridge have the gold/red color?

It is possible to have blue and silver. The black would be diluted to blue. For the most part, all partridges have the gold/red colors.

Yes, it's possible, but I do not believe there is a named variety with that particular mix of genes. Silver blue would be a good choice if it were not already in use, lol. Maybe grey-blue or blue-grey? (sounds like an reenactment of a civil war battle)

Still confused.
I am dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to this type of thing.
By looking......how would I know if I have silver partridge or blue partridge? I checked earlier......and I think both have a touch of red in the saddle at least. One on the breast feathering also....(still mostly down & pin feathers). To me it is hard to distinguish the grey and the blue partridge. Maybe because I haven't actually seen any others to compare it too.
I will say, the camera I was using did not get good pics. The gold tint is not showing up well. And the chicken is looking silvery in that picture. Will try for pictures again tomorrow. One has a nice sized crest - just wondering which one she is...blue partridge or grey.

Thanks for the added info, so nice to finally have a group of people who are willing to share instead of me aside for asking questions. Thats the only way I know to learn, lol. She does not appear to have a true BLUE hue to her. I've even compaired the light blue from my blues bums, and her color is more grey/lavender like my D'uccles.

Read my signature quote:)
Frankly its AAAAAALLLLLLLL gray matter until you have the end result.

BTW, just so I understood you correctly, if I decided to place this girl you would want her for your program??

Yep. If you decide to, pm me. If not its cool:)
BTW, I really do need a mentor with these colors, lol...

a lot of people do. At least your trying to work through it. Common sense happens to go along way in breeding.

Here I go again.......a second question.........

What would I pair together to get silver partridge?
What about to get blue partridge?

I have notes from the original breeder on parentage. I think. Somewhere.
