Self-Sufficient Homemade Recipes

i don't know about a bucket but, i put really dirty (man clothes:D) in at night and leave the washer open so they just fill and soak. close lid in morning and let it run. i have had everything come out (and we have 3 kids!) with only 2 TEASPOONS.

i would assume it would be the same in a bucket. the fels-naptha really breaks things down when allowed to work.

hope this may be helpful and encouraging!

I haven't gotten around to making the laundry detergent yer, but I did try the Oxi Clean in a load of dishes, used about a teaspoon and I am notorious for not rinsing my dishes before loading. They sparkled! I even had the cheaper version of Oxi Clean. I may try to make the Laundry detergent this weekend when my parents are here, they are retired and on a budget so trying to help them save $$ as well.

I was looking for a noodle recipe, but found laundry soap instead! I can't wait to make the soap, but in the meantime, does anyone have a good noodle recipe? I want to make chicken and noodles for supper.

Not a bad idea at all but what if you are washing something that needed to be washed right away LOL!

I will try that and see how the clothes will come out. Its hard to get the stains out of them at times. I almost tempt to put bleach in it!

Used dryer sheets are great for shinning your chrome kitchen faucets. No kidding try it.

I use Apple Cider vinegar for several things.

Deoderize your laundry with 1/2 cup per load in the wash cycle .Good for pet smells, leaves laundry fresh smelling.

I even used it once when we had a pet skunk that got scared and peed in the house. Used 1/2 apple cider vinegar, and 1/2 water in a spray bottle.

May smell like vinegar for just a little bit but the bad smells are gone.

Don't have to have a skunk to try it!

But I wanted to ask what do you mean by saying "(1/4 oz ea.) instant beef bouillon" ? Do you mean each bouillon cube added is 1/4 oz. ? or Do you mean you add 1/4 oz. of the dry jar beef bouillon? & when you say to --Combine & mix well-- do you mix the bouillon into the mix & store it all together?

------I'm asking cuz the jar bouillon is somewhat moist & I wasn't sure if it could be stored with the dry mix ingredients. Thanks for the recipe, looking forward to using it.

At our home I cut potatoes in cubes & toss cover them with a mix of Lipton Onion Soup Mix & a little bit of Olive Oil. Spread onto a 9x13pan or cookie sheet & bake @ 375 until cooked & slightly browned...Yummy as a side dish at our house.

& any extra left overs can be added to breakfast the next mornings.

For the dry laundry detergent, is the A & H washing soda called A&H washing detergent? Thats all I can find, and it looks like a regular dry detergent, not like an additive. Is this the right thing? It's about $5 a box.
