sent out my FIRST ever live chicks

You'd be surprised on how far they can get them in one night. Florida express shipments will tell you that it's a 2-dayer, but it will arrive the next day if nothing goes wrong. Believe me, I've had bettas shipped from Florida several times, and I'm in what they consider a "small town" which gets most shipments on the second day.

I checked the tracking a bit ago still still says it left pittsburgh.... *kicks tracking* LOL This is why I like UPS tracking better they tell you expected arrival time and all that good stuff..

LOL But nooo ups wont ship live birdies *pouts* LOL

When I was waiting on a shipped bird from WA, USPS kept saying arrived at bla bla bla and was excepted................. until they called me to pick up my bird. Good thing I was home, I wasn't expecting it to be there because of that. At least it was overnight.

Ya, most of the time USPS only updates the info in the evening, and late at that. Heck, i shipped a drake woodie a couple weeks ago and it was delivered to a CA resident before the system was updated!!!LOL

This year we ordered some chicks from MacMurry Hatchery and we got the phone call the same day they were shipped, approximately 6 hours after departure they arrived at our post office hub!!

I have been really pleased over the last 2 years with USPS between shipping/receiving live birds and shipping/receiving eggs, i give them a big thumbs up!!..............Jason

PS- They even called me at 4 A.M one morning to inform me that my chicks were in!!

I absolutly will not ship out day old to 2 week old chicks...I just don't feel comfortable with it. They have to be feathered atleast on most of their body before I will.

Mrs has waited something like a little over 3 weeks for her babies

I hope this three days in transit has been good on them

Jello is a good idea much less expensive than what I did! LOL! i bought specialized moisture gel (and apples)it was almost $10 but I wanted to insure they got to her hydrated as possible.

I trained them on teh gel and apples for 3 days before they shipped out to make sure they'd eat it
