***SEPTEMBER HATCH-A-LONG come join in***

Ok I did more candling and I can see no development in my first batch of eggs. That doesn't mean there is nothing there, some are really to dark to see through but I doubt I will get even one chick.

However, I checked my eggs I put in friday and ALL of them show development. HOLY CRAP there are veins everywhere. Too excited. See even with those tutorials until you see for yourself you are doubting everything. Anywho I am very hopeful that I will have some fluffies for my birthday. I figure due date is 9-24

Next questions my humidity is not staying at 50. It keeps dropping to 35 and 40%. Now if I try to correct this now then I am up to 60 and 65 which is too high from what I read so is it ok that the humidity keeps dipping now and then? or would it be safer to stick around 60. I cannot seem to get it to stay right at 50.

I can't wait I am about 20 hours away from lockdown!!!!!

Will get some pictures on her in a minute!
I candled my bantam hen's eggs ( the one that has 7 ) and 1 of them was all dark inside and I could barely see anything and the other ones were all kinda clear ...

I'm gonna give the other ones until next week and then candled again and see if they've grown. That one egg looks like it could hatch out this weekend or something!

I put 123 Coturnix eggs in the bator yesterday. They'll be due to hatch between Sept. 14-21. Gonna

and hope that we don't have any raccoons get into the power plant this go 'round, tho. Had one knock out everyone's power during lockdown on my last batch.

I lost all 3 chicken eggs, and all 13 quail eggs.

Still no silkies for me.

I'm not giving up, tho. If I can't get any in the bator by sometime in October, I will definitely get some in the spring.

9 beautiful babies hatched September 5!

Had given up on this new, inexperienced broody/mom... she has been trying for several months, but kept leaving her nest to set on everyone elses' new eggs.

I'd given up, but she finally stuck it out and hatched these darling mutt babies... 3 yellow, 3 black and 3golden!
clap.gif
Hooray! Don't like having babies this late but she is being a wonderful mom and I'm not complaining!

Gorgeous babies! I can't wait, my silkies are day 6 today, removed 7 clears, 1 that appeared to have started developing before I even set them and is clearly a quitter and 1 with a blood ring, all the others are developing really well, fingers crossed!
