September Hatch-a-long!

Pics
When I was living in Louisiana before, I used to buy those jars of pickled quail eggs that a place sold there. They tasted good, as they had some good recipe for them that I liked. I have eaten other pickled quail eggs before that I didn't like though.

I've been looking through recipes to try when we have some eggs. Hubs hasn't especially cared for homemade, but he loves it when I put eggs in leftover commercial pickle juice for him. Especially the zesty dills. I don't like 'em.

I may try to find a few NN's in the Spring! They aren't very common in my area.

You might want to keep an eye out of that NN breed thread then, as it might be possible for you to find someone who is close enough to you that's doing them. Some of us are hatching out some real pretty ones, and will always have extra chicks or hatching eggs available. There are so many way's that you can go with the NN gene.

I would buy some of the pickled quail eggs from you, if you can come up with a good recipe for them.

So I pulled the last of the eggs from under the broddy and opened them all and they were all off, unfertile eggs. Will be contacting the guy I got them from. Still no idea what to do with poor Doris who is now sitting on nothing :hit

So, I guess that the best thing that you can do for her now is to either buy a couple of day old chicks for her, or you will have to break her from being broody.
