September Hatch-a-long!

55 flower hen? Everything I've read says they are average sized chickens, but the four eggs I'm incubating are at least twice the size of an average egg... will the chicks hatch out large, but grow into regular chickens? Mine are incubating really well but I'm a little worried about when they hatch, if the chick might have problems since the eggs are taller/rounder?

could be double yolkers if they are a lot bigger than normally laid , not familiar with the breed though so don't know if you can see inside their egg shell candling, from what I've been told double yolkers are twins but don't usually make it

yeah that in theory , eggs are no different than my chickens they do what they want when they want as they don't read the books to know the rules lol

I just finished candling. I couldn't see though two of what I think is marans eggs. One of the brown eggs looks clear for now. The blue eggs candle like a dream! Out of twenty-nine only one being clear and two being unreadable is pretty good to me. Here's a picture of one is the blue ones.

The only thing I hate about the combo I'm hatching is the NHR crosses I hatch the eggs are so super thick I usually have to assist hatch those every time...grrr

I used to wait to give them time but I ended up with all dead chicks now I assist about 10 hours after pip and they end up fine
