I really didn't expect this many because all my hens and my top are molting  I still have more to go!
What breed are they?

I set another 20 eggs yesterday. I'm not sure how it will go. Some may have been stored too long so I set them about 10 hours earlier and the incubator went up to 105.2 so they may have fried. The other half went in after the incubator calmed down.
I'm not sure if I'm going to do any more hatches after this till mid winter. My really dark layers are molting now. I have 20 hens, 3 roosters and now 25 chicks of various ages from 4 days to 10 weeks.

I love the different colors!

these are some hatched in may, some interesting mixes..
The next batch should be fun with lots of Nn I hope.

So last month I ordered 6 cream legbar eggs online, they sent me 6 cl and one extra egg that was brown, maybe an easter egger? None of the blue eggs made it, bad shipping :rantit worked out tho, I ordered more lol.... but the one brown egg goes in lockdown tomorrow! I can just barely see veins, but the air cell keeps growing, I'm so curious to see whats inside! :jumpy:pop:fl

Keeping an eye on the eggs that after 4 days seemed to have developed a second air sac end to end, we are down to one questionable due to coloring making it hard to see and 16 developing and playing around in there when candled they started darting from the light lol

Maybe what you're seeing is the chick on one side as it develops? There would be a light space on the other side until the chick fills the egg.

I candled tathe few eggs I can see into yesterday to check air cells since my hygrometer is off. It looks like we're pretty much on track. Lockdown is Friday night :weeI think I need a silkie for future hatches, I'm not thrilled babysitting the bator. Maybe I'll get one or two bantams to hatch my quail eggs. Hmmm

Lock down is tomorrow! All 13 are still looking beautiful! I have a broody that I think I might try to let raise them. My husband suggested I give her at least 1 egg to try to hatch herself.

~ADVICE~ I have a Hovabator 1602N with a fan, and last time, my last 2 to hatch started to glue. I have the worst time trying to keep up the humidity during lockdown. I had a sponge I would get wet via a straw, any other advice?
