September Hatch-a-long!

Well 11 of the 13 hatched! 6 Legbar, 4of which are boys‍ , 4 OE- 3 are girls, and a single BCM, but it has a scissor beak .

Gave them to my broody, and she is in heaven and oh so patient. Little buggers are pecking her eyes and comb and she just lets them.

I just added a little bit of water to tye incubator. We are officially in lockdown

On a side note my mom asked if turning up the temperature will make them hatch sooner. I said I didn't know, maybe. She said to turn it up to 350* because she's ready for dinner

Tell her at freshly hatched they are little more than fuzz covered toothpicks, so she will have to wait until they get some meat on the bones.

It means stop turning the eggs. Usually it also includes increasing humidity a bit for hatching.

My boyfriend has 5 older brothers.... his mom told me she had an incubator once, she told the kids it would take awhile to hatch, they had to keep warm for a long time. One of the younger brothers was impatient, and 4 years old. He thought the dryer would make them hatch faster... when mom came home, he was all excited to tell her the eggs were about to hatch in the dryer not the most successful hatch lol....
