September Hatch-a-long!

My boyfriend has 5 older brothers.... his mom told me she had an incubator once, she told the kids it would take awhile to hatch, they had to keep warm for a long time. One of the younger brothers was impatient, and 4 years old. He thought the dryer would make them hatch faster... when mom came home, he was all excited to tell her the eggs were about to hatch in the dryer not the most successful hatch lol....

Congrats to everyone with babies and pips!!!! This is all so exciting !!

Hi everyone! My broody hen Marielle's ducklings have hatched, no pips from any of the chicken eggs yet though.

The other broody hen Leafy is sitting on OEGB eggs and one silkie EE mix egg.

Here's Marielle and her bubbas(lol, the first pic is just her)

Protective Mumma Leafy and her eggs they're due to hatch on October the 2nd(The silkie EE egg is in a plastic easter egg thing, because technically my parents don't want more EEs, but I had to!)

End of day 14 looks like all 17 are thriving of the 18 I put in, but most look a couple days ahead the eggs are getting quite full air cells are all looking good now the eggs are pretty full

the first time I brought home eggs from my original flock my 25 yr old son told me to quit coloring the eggs it wasn't Easter, he was under the assumption that all eggs were white apparently poor deprived kiddlet lol, now he loves it when I'm hatching out have to remind him I'll superglue his hands to his feet if I have to just so he'll leave the incubator alone and he's 28 now lol

I got up this morning and used my flashlight to check humidity in the bator like I have been. We have a pip. Never would have seen it if the room light was on. Now I'm on pins and needles.

Nope, we are 11 or 12 hours now and this is far as it's changed. Wondering how long to wait before I intervene since it has pipped at the small end. I'm waiting patiently for now...

@igorsMistress Can you see the beak and it's nostrils through that hole to see if it is breathing? Is it peeping at you?

I just took those little pieces of shell off and made the slit in the inner membrane a hole. Yes I saw beak and heard peeps. Added water for humidity. Have seen at least one more egg rocking and rolling in there.
