September Hatch-a-long!

Pics
:hugsWe all learn .:)I had 6 eggs for my first hatch. I have one NN chick from that attempt.

I found out my hygrometer was off for humidity by at least 7% and it reads low. Second time around I calibrated it using the salt test and tried a few things to keep the humidity steadier and my hatch rate was MUCH better.

Keep trying!
Thanks. I’m not giving up. I’ll try again. I will calibrate the hydrometer and I have about three different thermometer. Even a liquid one that I’m going to calibrate.

Here's every one! I put most of the pictures in collages. If any of you can guess what breed or mix these little ones are it would be great! ETA * The lady I got them from has*Olive Eggers, EEs, Marans, Ameraucanas, Leghorns, Sussex, Red Sexlink, Salmon Faverolles and I think she mentioned naked necks too.

:heToday is day 22 and no sign of hatching. Two hatched and one didn’t make it out of the last night :hit
Should I do the floating test tomorrow or today? How save is it to do such test? Wouldn’t the water ruin the eggs? Please help
I did the float test on day 22 and it takes less than 20 seconds. But certainly told me that there was a viable chick in there. As long as you're organised with everything you need and you make sure that the egg is not compromised in any way, it won't hurt. There are tutorials in YouTube how to go about it. It's a beautiful sight to see that little egg wiggle!

Thank you. I’ll look into that. I just candle them and at least one of the three I saw something moving. One it’s too dark to tell and one it just weird. I’ll give it a couple days more and I’ll do it. At that point there’s nothing to lose I guess
