September Hatch-a-long!

I had to open the incubator because this guy pipped near the bottom!
It was still alive so i layed him down on it's side. Is this a malposition? Will it make it? Am i being overly worried?

Agree with Blubaby... I just had 7 seramas hatch, all of them pipped like that, smack in the middle. 4 others that pipped the same way didn't make it, and two that pipped the air cell also didn't make it.... keep an eye on it, theres a good chance it'll be ok

Just keep an eye on that one, and if you think that it need's help getting out of there, then assist very carefully.

I understand misting can be useful for duck eggs? What are you hatching?

I think that's because ducks have thicker shells and membranes.
I'm hatching 3 Serama and 1 Japanese Bantam. USPS scrambled my eggs But these guys are still going strong.

It's been around two hours since I put the eggs in my 'bater. The Temps perfect at the top of the eggs for my forced air incubator, but on the automatic turner the temperature is 96°. Could this be a problem?

Update the weird one is still alive after pipping in the wrong area. But has made no progress. The other two are almost zipped. Their demolishing their shells it seems like. ^.^

Ok I was planning to set 'a few' eggs..... ok so for the record 24 is just a few right??? Or am I supposed to look at it as just a few from this hen and a few from that hen?
Of course I had to set a few of each color so a few dark brown, a few white, a few green..... and some in between.

It might fix itself, it might not. Either way make sure the others don't peck at it.
