September Hatch-a-long!

Pics
Hello, all! I started 14 on the 24th, so it's Day 8 here. I had to remove a smelly one today. Seeing 8 with movement and one BCM that is hard to tell, but I think I saw some movement. Weights have dropped appropriately. Hatch day is the 14th, yay! Good luck everyone!

Good luck with your's too! :fl

I'm not sure but i think the bug eye might be blind. For sure the affected eye is blind, but i also suspect the normal looking eye is as well. I'll have to wait and see.

Second one hatched. This is actually the first one to pip. 30 hours ago.
None of the other eggs have pipped yet, so we'll be candling them for signs of life.

It's hard work for them to work their way out of those shell's. Sometimes they need to take a break to rest while they are trying to get out. After getting out, they usually sleep for awhile while they are drying off. As long as you can observe that they are breathing, don't be too worried about them.

The rest of the eggs have no life. This is the second time we've lost eggs in lockdown. At least this time we got some babies.

yes both seem to be chirping away and the second is finally starting to try and stand a little.
Question, their down is dry but still mostly stuck to their bodies. Some is fluffed up but the rest feels like hair with too much hair spray.
The malposition is still alive but again. No progress.

Were the eggs from your own flock, or from shipped eggs? Yes, the down can be like that. It will go away. Some of mine are still like that when I move them down into my brooder that I have my incubator sitting on top of. You might have to help that malpositioned one, but do it very carefully so the you don't hurt it.
