September Hatch-A-Long!

I'm seriously vexed! For the last week and a half everything with my bator had been nice and stable! Last night we went into lockdown and took the egg turner out and laid the eggs down, and now nothing is stable! My temps dropped to 97f without the turner and then jumped to 102f! I can't get it to stabilize and I can't get my humidity down! I've come so far and I'm so scared that my babies will drown, overheat or freeze! Ugh!

I just put my in lockdown too..and temps are all different on all thermometers. I do have my humidity set pretty consistent so far at 65-68% ...im a nervous wreck!! Hang in there, i think we worry way more than we need to!

Ooh good luck to everyone in lockdown already and hugs for all the losses. xxx

My lockdown is tomorrow. I've been fine up to now but it's all getting a bit too real! Nerves are kicking in! What if it all goes wrong? Eek!

They all seem to be developing well tho there are about 3-4 that are questionable. I took one out this morning, it hadn't looked right a couple days ago and when I candled it this morning it was sloshy. I opened it up to see how far it had gone. It was small but well formed and about half the contents were fluid and yolk.

I'll be holding my breath till Sunday!

I can't stand it! All the chicks....the cuteness!!! The CUTENESS!! I'm afraid that when mine hatch I'm not gonna be able to put them down...is too much cuddling bad for them? My husband keeps telling me that I can't hold them a lot because it's bad for them to be handled.

I am pretty sure my White Leghorn mutt from this morning did have my Lavender Ameraucana for a daddy. Looks to me like she has muffs and a beard. She also has giant golden curls on the side of her neck, LOL! She is the fluffiest little chick! <3 her! Looking forward to giant blue eggs hopefully in about 6 months.

102 isn't a problem for a short time! were the silkie eggs shipped...that's the biggest issue with the shipping! try to keep busy so the time will pass....I'll be checking in to see your pics when the little ones make their debut
:jumpy

Yeah the silkies were shipped and all the way from the opposite coast. That is probably why 5 didn't develop at all. The other 3 quit early on. My bantam Cochins did real good though, and they came all the from Texas. I only lost 2 of those and they were extras, I'm still up one extra too.
