Just set 11 muscovy Duck eggs, it's going to be a close one. I will probably go into October with these guy's! Happy setting everyone!

it is too early but it's always going to be difficult with those....as they progress comparing them to each other...hopefully you see some movement in another week then you'll have something to go by...but if your unsure rule is put them back! lol happy hatchingIm also new to hatching and have set 5 black and 3 blue marans eggs under my barred rock hen this last weekend. She had 1 egg she was already sitting on so there are a total of 9 and 1 is a week or so ahead of the rest (if its alive) I can't figure out how to candleand see wwhat's in there. There's a black thing in there that is taking up almost half of the egg now and a little air pocket at the end. I couldn't tell if it was moving or not but I don't have a good light to candle with. The marans eggs are really hard to see anything in, shell to dark and maybe to early yet? Today is day 5 for the marans eggs. Any advise is appreciated!
I'm on day 15 with the oldest eggs and day 8 for the youngest. Coldest night we've had this year and what happens? Power went out for 4 hours. I covered my incubator with towels within minutes when it was clear it wasn't coming back on but when I checked the temp when the power came back it was at 75 degrees. They were doing so good! I really hope they didn't all succumb to the cold....![]()
Quote: just expect them to hatch a little later than you thought...I've read on the web the temps that cause embryo deaths...I remember 104 on the high end but I don't remember the cold side...I don't think that was cold enough!![]()
