September Hatch-A-Long!

Is there such thing as Empty Incubator Syndrome (EIS) ? Lol if there is I'm pretty sure I have it! I feel the need to get up and check humidity and temperature but sadly I don't have any eggs and my bator is off.

I really want to incubate eggs but I don't know how that will go with me starting school the 23rd of this month. Hmmm... I want me some more eggs! Lol

I candled my questionable egg and to my surprise there is a little baby moving around in it!!! Im so glad I didnt toss it on Saturday. It still looks different from the others but I'm gonna keep it in there and see what happens. This might be weird but I smelled it to make sure it wasnt going bad..LOL!

Thanks :) I'm happy to say that my goats are back home and won't be leaving ever again!

Glad you got them back! I know that sinking gut when you find out what happened. We rehomed a little dog once that we'd raised from birth, to a supposed good family. The first day they had him, they threw him out like trash. We searched the roads for weeks trying to find him, thinking he'd probably be dead, and miraculously found him. We have him and his sister again now and will 'til the day they die. They're happy, spoiled 13-year-olds now. Don't wish that anxiety on anyone.

Yes! There most certainly is! My last hatched yesterday and I have two empty bators. I'm going crazy without going in to check on anything every couple hours. :p Must. Have. More. Eggs!

So glad you found him! I don't understand how people can disregard the fact that they have full control of another living beings life and throw them out like trash.

Makes me feel better that I'm not the only one! I'm think I'm going to order some quail eggs and try my hand at raising them. I'm in love with my incubator! It turns eggs into little fluffy butts! :) lol

5 pips now and the one that pipped last night i think is starting to zip.... it keeps pushing the pip apart and i can see its wee beak. #1 silkie x peep coming soon i hope.

Hahahaha I'm the same way!
I'm stealing that, EIS

Wow, should I lock them down earlier then?
HI, My opinion is no.......................I have been hatching shipped eggs for years and have not found that they hatch early.
They start to develop from the time they are added to the incubator............or proper amount of heat.
Does not mean that others may not have had a difference experience................
