September Hatch-A-Long!

I went to candle my Mille Fleur D'ucce to mark the low point before putting them in lockdown. No need. Both already pipped. My Isbar eggs are so full, those chicks are going to be huge. Only 3 left out of 7 going into lockdown. I bought 24 Salomon Faverolles. I put 12 in 2 days before the other 12. 8 of the first batch made it to lockdown.

So 2 Mille Fleurs, 3 Isbars and 8 Salmon Faverolles.

I have Silkies that aren't due to hatch until Sunday evening. It looks like one has a wing tip or something other than a beak that broke thru the membrane. Is there anything I should do? I only have two Porcelain that have made it this far. I really want it to make it.

Well I'm one week away from lock down and I'm so saddened by my results so far. I purchased 8 porcelain silkie eggs and not one of them made it

and those are the ones I REALLY wanted. Our of my 15 bantam cochin eggs I have 13 kicking and growing and out of my 5 EE eggs I have 2 that are great and 1 that I can't see into because the egg is too pourse, but the air sack is growing so I'm holding on to it. Hubby says I'm done with eggs for the year because he doesn't want the chicks to have a hard time hardening off for winter and doesn't want then in the house until March because we already have a BLRW with a hurt leg and 2 house Seramas. Blah!
not one of my seabrites made it either....I usually get a few chicks at least from the shipped

OMG! I am so relieved and happy! My Bielefelder eggs arrived and I went to pick them up this morning. They were shipped from South to North Texas and look GREAT! And even though I bought only 6 he sent 10! These normally sell for $180 a dozen - I paid $29.99

I am one happy girl! All the air cells are still attached, no cracks, giant beautiful light/medium brown eggs. If you are looking for some of these I can't recommend him enough http://www.rarebreedauctions.com/au...elder-chicken-hatching-eggs&auction_id=115400 Even though I probably could just set them I am going to let them sit for a day since I will have my new Hovabator to put them in tomorrow!!!

I put it in lockdown early. I don't think it's ready to come out but the whole chick is moving around in there. There is a lot of etra space but the viens still have blood. I hope it doesn't run out of air before it's ready. I am off to sell my first chicks.

Had a bad scare this morning. I went to bed early with a cold and I'm not sure what happened but some time between 9pm and 3 am the temp jumped up to 109!

Luckily I woke at 3:30 am and got the temp down pretty quick but not sure how much damage it did.
