Should I be concerned?

Ok so I can't see the beak anymore through the pip so I candled and it has turned and is now pipped the air cell! It's beak is now more than half an inch above where it pipped. Hope it didnt get tired pipping that first hole and take so long pipping again that it suffocates or the gets shrink wrapped! Humidity is 73. Should I be doing anything?

how long has it been like that? you can chip a bit of shell...if you get any blood wrap it in a damp paper towel leaving the pip exposed and put it back in the bator for a few hours...then try it again...if you can open enough to expose it's head it may be able to get it's self out....just make sure you take it slow with helping...let it do most of the work

It pipped through the side of the egg and was rocking like crazy for about 3 and a half hours so I rolled it over to get a better look and the beak was there in the hole and it was chirping at me. Then the beak wasn't there anymore about a half hour ago so I candled and it's head was in the air cell. I wonder if it was malpisitioned and rolling the egg over got it unstuck so it could position correctly? I will poke a small hole to make sure it can get enough air...

if it's in the large end then it's probably fine....you don't necessarily want to start helping because then you'll be committed and that's when there's the biggest danger of the membrane drying! after they pip their shells it can take over 24 hrs before they zip out!
I don't want to do anything if I don't have to but I am worried about the amount of air coming in that huge pip in the side. My fan can be shut of seperately from the incubator. I think I will turn it off and see if that slows down the drying of the membrane.
