Oh no, I mistakenly assumed that the hole was the cleared beak
IMO you need to clear the beak. If the membrane is punctured you need to make sure they can breath otherwise they will try and may smother. I hope that hasn't already happened
I had one perfectly healthy chick who pipped, started to zip and blocked its own air hole with its back and died :'( So the number one thing is they have to be able to breathe, and the number two thing is patience. I would say we need to make sure #1 is taken care of. Fingers crossed
