Enjoy your little babies! How did things turn out?
Well...the little guy is still with us. I pulled him out and gave him a vitamin drop, and took a better look, he has a bit of an umbilical stub on his bottom? He just lays flat out in the bator, but has moved positions. I think what happened is he didn't have the egg yolk fully absorbed when he pipped such a large hole. Then the membrane dried and he was getting shrink wrapped.
The others aren't showing much sign of wiggles, or pips, but I've had in this batch, chicks pip and zip all within an hour. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of them!
The little Gino egg is still one I'm waiting on, and getting nervous.!
We are ending day 23. I'm concerned that opening the bator to help the little guy, upset the rest of the hatch, but I could not stand to see the poor little guy suffering! You could tell he was starting to fail.My fingers are crossed too! Glad the little guy is still around. I've had that with several that I have to help. Usually it takes up to 3 days for them to get their footing. I would just give him a vitamin drop everyday if you can and give him time. It's a 50/50 chance but never hurts to try!
