Serama eggs from Castle Delight Seramas

Yay! That is good news!!! I would honestly open the bator and candle the remaining eggs. That is what I do. At least I then know if any have internally pipped and might need help getting out due to shrink wrapping. However, this is just what I do and I know others do not feel comfortable messing with things.

I thought the same thing on the remaining eggs Laura. pulled them this morning, and candled, they were all dead:( I did egg topsy's on them, looks like 2 died before lockdown, and the other 2 CDS never pipped thru the membrane. My 2 remaining silkie eggs, 1 may have died before lockdown, but what kills me, is the other 1 had already obsorbed the eggyolk and everything he just never made it out. I fear I may have killed the little buggers helping the little amadeus baby. I just couldn't stand to see him suffering!! He was pipped enough, that I could see his little face!!

But on a good note!!! The little guy is up running around the bator this morning!! I'm going to leave him in there with food and water for another day. He is so small, he has a hard time regulating his temp. and was getting chilled in the brooder.

And just an FYI on you out there with developing gino eggs, mine was a fully developed little bitty perfect chick,so good luck on yours!! I have certainly learned alot on this hatch, what to do, and not. I'm grateful that I had such great shipped eggs to deal wirth, and Laura, I plan on hatching again, so maybe next time, with more knowledge under my belt, I'll have more CDS babies!!

Final tally....3 amadeus chicks, 1 romeo chick, and 3 of my own BBS silkie chicks. Already love them all!!!

Awww it's always so hard when they are fully formed but don't pip. I have yet to be brave enough to open any that don't hatch. It is just too hard on me still, so kudos to you! And helping is a mixed bag, always. What I've found is that if I help one, I have to help them all. I usually end up saving most of them, but always losing a few in the process. It really is just a roll of the dice. I can't wait to see photos of them and anytime you want more eggs, just let me know! Lots more pens are laying now so the selection is getting wider

So glad the Amadeus baby is doing well! I don't know that I would be brave enough to open the eggs. I think it would break my heart to see them. I know it's helpful to know what happened...........but just don't think I could do it. Can't wait to see pics as your babies grow!

I'd like to announce...........I will be getting some of Laura's eggs in April and I am SO stinkin excited!!!! I had done a test hatch with my hovabator with my LF eggs, and it was disastrous. I put it in the spare room that we keep closed (we don't use central so no heat or air to that room) so I gave up.

But I am getting a Brinsea with the humidity pump and hope that will help soooo, ordered some CDS eggs and can't WAIT to get them!!!!

I still can't believe that I got it!!!! There were several ahead of me that wanted it, but all their hubbies said NO! LOL I am trying to figure out the best place to put the Brinsea. Could put it in my closet(which is HUGE, but also can't even walk in there!!! LOL) to at least provide a reasonable consistency in temps.

I'm so glad your little Amadeus baby is making it! Let's see some pictures of those chickies

Both of my Napoleons quit and so did a Gino, so I'm really hoping that the one Gino egg I have left hatches. The other one was losing weight way too fast.. I was actually tempted to pull it because I was worried I would end up with a deformed chick or something equally heartbreaking. This has been a weird incubation for me--difficulty seeing in the eggs really well, and I see a lot more worrisome things I'm used to... One of my eggs almost looks like it tore a blood vessel or something. It's still growing and moving though. Little baby just got too excited kicking in that egg! It's all a great learning experience though... the more I experience the better off I'll be in the future :)

Good luck on your hatch, Laura! I'll be waiting for updates and pictures!

Hatch is not going well here at all. I'm fairly positive 3 babies are dead in their shells....1 baby hatched tonight and died....3 more alive but haven't pipped. Two of those 3 are in fluid filled eggs. Not hopeful

Laura, So sorry about the bad news on your hatch, I know how it feels. I opened 7 eggs a couple days ago and all were fully formed but died for no reason during lockdown, it is heartbreaking. I just believe this is the way it is on seramas because every hatch I have this happen. I try to help rescue if I have had no pips on day 20, but most of the time it is too late and they are already dead. I do wish you luck on the remaining ones, maybe you will get a couple to hatch. Hang in there and don't give up.
