"NO" Please dont do this unless it is meant for the problem the kitten is having, had a rescue dog surrendered that was blinded from this.....I am going back to read to see if it is as I did not read all the posts

Glad to hear the kitten made it and glad to hear there are folks like you in the world who will take the time to save a small life!! A round of applause to you!!

I found my dumpster (feral) kitten three years ago and my vet said to give her diluted Karo syrup if she's got diarhrea and/or vomiting because their blood sugar can drop real quickly. The way to administer it is to rub about a 50/50 mixture on her gums.
I also had a real problem with worms and internal parasites with her.

The kitten is now a full grown cat and doing very well. She's a loving, friendly cat.

Just found this thread. I don't have much to offer in the way of info, but I will be sending up good thoughts and prayers for your little foundling. What a lovely thing you are doing for her!

We found a litter someone had dumped off by the hwy, a couple of them had the same eye issues you are describing. Anyway, one of them ended up with ba serious eye infection from it and I had to have her eye removed. Well we still have her. She is doing great now. The others we found good homes for. Keep an eye on those eyes, antibiotics asap will help.

She KNOWS that the dropper contains milk and will attack it when you put it up to her mouth. She is getting a little stronger but we have got to get some antibiotics as soon as the vet opens in the morning. She's really sweet for a cat that has never been handled, and her and the 4 year old DD are best buds now. I put some vaseline AROUND her eyes to keep the crust to a minimum, that seems to help the area around her eye from getting crusty and hard from her eyes running. She's still so frail that it makes me a little nervous. Here's hoping she can make it another night until the vet opens

not much to add except that it is great that you are trying to help this kitten, found a kitten once thrown in a dumpster in front of my house named her snowball, she was my daughters best friend, I just washed the eyes with water and kept her face clean that seemed to help, they cleared up in about 7days and vet told me that this is a common problem with kittens taken away from their mothers to early they don't get the need antibodies from their mothers milk, which usually keeps kittens safe until they are weened, weather the kitten's mom was Ferrel or if it was dumped you will need a little more tlc because of not getting mothers milk good luck and praying kitten makes it, sounds like it is doing well and will be okay.

For my foundling, canned catfood and kitten vitamin drops from the grocery store. For a month, because I wasn't spending money on vet for a stray going to the pound. He's still here. 9 years or so. did warm wipe downs 3-5 times a day, medicated fungal infection with athlete's foot cream. He was in fine shape by the time I took to vet a month later. Best wishes
