served in army for three yrs but doesn't qualify....

my husband served for three yrs he does have a dd214, but no wars where taking place, is what i was told.... i had delayed entry, took oaths and signed and initialed 64 times but my mother got very sick so i had to be discharged to take care of her. mine was during a war time..... but i only get discharge papers......

Well I can relate to this in a way. I spent four and a half years in the Navy and decided to go to college when I got out.

Granted, I do have the GI Bill, but when I went to apply for financial aid, I only qualified for a student load which was about 700 for two semesters. After a little research I found out that people from other countries qualify for these same benefits and don't have to pay out-of-state tuition at any college or school they go to.

Yes it is messed up.
